Around The Community

The Calgary Synchronized Skating Club, strongly believes that healthy communities build better environments for children, and healthy children are the fuel for strong communities.

Helping to build these healthy communities while promoting synchronized skating is a big part of who we are as a club. Success means nothing without a team of essential individuals on and off the ice who care about each other and their community.

That's why you can see us present at various events that help shape our proud communities in Alberta.

Run For The Cure

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is an extraordinary single-day experience that unites more than 170,000 Canadians in over 40 communities across the country. They raise millions of dollars to fund innovative and relevant breast cancer research, education, and awareness programs in the communities.

The Black Gold skating teams and parents, laced up their runners and took to the streets jogging, as they once again helped to raise funds for a worthy cause. We had an excellent turnout despite the rain and fun was had by all.

Legends of Hockey

The Red Army team and Hall of Famers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s put on a dynamic and memorable display of hockey, to an almost sell out crowd at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

The Black Gold Junior team took to the ice for an exhibition skate during the intermission of this legends classic. Their first performance of the 2005/2006 season was exciting and fun.

World Figure Skating Ghampionships

A number of Black Gold skaters participated in the World Figure Skating Championship opening ceremonies on March 20, 2006. Members of our Club were proud to act as flag bearers and represent Synchronized skating as part of the skating community in Calgary
