Creative Expression Seminar

The Calgary Synchronized Skating Club, in partnership with Alberta Figure Skating Foundation, is pleased to host a Creative Expression Seminar from September 16-18, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta.

This seminar will provide CSSC skaters with on-ice and off-ice sessions, focusing on translating artistic ability, creative expression and theatrical presentation to the ice while maintaining the highest quality skating skills.

Skaters will have the unique opportunity to work with two accomplished coaches. World-champion synchronized skater, Lee Chandler, will lead the on-ice sessions. He has an extensive background in performance, theater and movement that will play a large role contributing to skater development. The off-ice sessions will be lead by Kristen Eveleigh, Executive Artistic Director of the Calgary Young People’s Theatre. We are excited that she will share her passion for theatre and performance with our skaters.

Together, the coaches will motivate, challenge and improve skater’s performance and execution skills along with helping to interpret music and connect with the audience. This will enhance individual, team and synchronized skating skills.

CSSC strives for excellence in our philosophy of uncompromising growth and skill development and is excited to offer the Creative Expression Seminar to club skaters.
